Winter Wonderland at Kildanogue Duck Ponds, just outside Goatenbridge village in south Tipperary, is a very special festive celebration of everything that is good about the area.
This superb local event is the brainchild of the Ardfinnan, Ballybacon, Grange & Newcastle Gun Club who have been involved in conservation of this general area for many years. The club has also been instrumental in maintaining and upgrading the facilities at the ponds over recent years.
Winter Wonderland at Kildanogue Duck Ponds ran for the first time in 2016, when it was an unqualified success. So much so that the 2017 event was much improved and expanded. At that stage the event was booked exclusively online.
The event is hosted at Kildanogue Duck Ponds, which is a truly magical natural woodland and lake amenity at the foot of the Knockmealdown Mountains. The Duck Ponds have been extensively upgraded over the past few years. There are now accessible walkways around all the ponds.
In this unique and mystical setting, the organisers have put together a festival of seasonal celebration that will live long in the memories of kids and adults alike. Participants get to enjoy a spectacular lighting display, kids can get to meet with Santa, there is an animal petting area, festive refreshments are on hand.
If you wish to purchase a professional photograph as a memento to encapsulate your festive trip, a photographer will be on hand to make sure that special moment is captured perfectly. This is just an introduction of the magic, we don’t want to give it all away, there will be some surprises too.
Parking for the event is at Goatenbridge village (see the Find Us page) where bus transfers will take visitors to this unique celebration of the festive season.
